We Can Insure Your Ford GT

As a competitive, successful racecar and a high-performance street car, the Ford GT takes its place in automotive history as an American classic with over 50 years of pinnacle moments. Ford GT owners know the importance of protecting this kind of investment and Classic Auto Insurance wants you to have the coverage this legend deserves.

Revenge is Best Served with Speed

In the early 1960’s, Henry Ford II has a dream to build the kind of automobile that can race at Le Mans. Since the Ford Motor Company is using its knowledge and expertise to make Mustangs, Thunderbirds, Falcons, Fairlaines and Galaxies, Henry Ford strikes a deal with Ferrari to build his racecar. Alas, Ferrari backs out of the deal and Mr. Ford is left with no racecar.

Now Henry Ford II has a new dream: Win Le Mans and beat Ferrari. With the help of other auto companies, Ford builds the iconic Ford GT40. Known by fans as the Blue Oval, Mr. Ford’s racecar goes on to have the greatest string of American victories at Le Mans, winning the race and stomping Ferrari four times from 1966 through 1969.

Bringing the Legacy to the Streets

Forty years later, the Ford Motor Company decides to revive the classic Ford GT racecar as a streetcar. Times may have changed but the company’s goal remains the same: Beat Ferrari. For a two-year run in 2005 and 2006, Ford produces an updated Ford GT supercar that outguns the Ferrari 360 and 430 mid-engine sports cars.

Return of the Legacy X 2

In 2012 Ford’s performance team starts a secret project – they are bringing back the Ford GT racecar to compete at Le Mans in 2016 to mark the 50th anniversary of the GT40’s first win. This time the goal is … still, to beat Ferrari. After a hard-fought battle in the grueling 24-hour race, the Ford GT is victorious again.

After the GT’s limited production run ends in 2006, the Ford faithful are anxiously awaiting the return of their favorite performance supercar. In 2016, they get their wish. Seven thousand car enthusiasts apply for a chance to buy one of 500 second generation GTs during the next two-year production run. Who is one of the lucky ones who owns a 2017 Ford GT?

For the latest incarnation of the Ford GT, designers make a few eye-opening decisions. With the invention of EcoBoost, they replace the V8 engine with a twin-turbo 3.5L V6. This allows an amazing 647 horsepower with a top speed of 216 mph. The sleek, superhero-looking body is constructed from lightweight carbon fiber, contributing to the feeling of flight when a driver takes the wheel. The company goes even further, saying it’s the very definition of aerodynamic. They say it’s feared on the track and on the road it’s a crowd pleaser. We say yes to all of it!

Customized Policies to Fit Your Needs

When you own a Ford GT supercar, you want to protect it. At Classic Auto Insurance, we get that and can help you find the perfect coverage. We offer customizable policies that are not just a one size fits all. Our GT insurance plans are tailored to each individual customer and your vehicle to fit your needs.

 Agreed Value Not Stated Value

At Classic Auto Insurance, we offer you Agreed Value coverage on your Ford GT. Unlike other insurance companies who want to tell you what your car is worth, we will work with you to determine the real value of your car and write a policy based on that price. In the event your GT is totaled in a covered loss, you will receive the exact agreed-upon value on your policy minus your deductible.

Flexible Plans and Rollover Miles

Choose from one of our three mileage plans -1,000, 3,000 or 6,000 miles- to tailor your GT insurance policy to your needs. For example, say you, too, plan travel to The 24 Hours of Le Mans, but the plans never come together. No problem – Classic Auto Insurance offers rollover miles from one year’s policy to the next. We understand plans change and we don’t feel you should lose miles just because you didn’t use them.

Classic Auto Insurance – Affordable Rates for Your Peace of Mind

In addition to Agreed Value, our “Inflation Guard” provides an automatic increase in vehicle coverage every quarter, throughout the policy term, so you don’t have to worry your GT may be underinsured. This is just another way we offer peace of mind to Classic Auto customers.

Ford GT Roadside Assistance – Call Anytime

Your GT is a brilliant example of powerful engineering – but that doesn’t mean you will never find yourself broken down on the side of the road. Common FAQs For Ford GT Insurance

Does the value of a Ford GT appreciate, and how does that impact insurance coverage?

Yes, many Ford GT models have appreciated or held strong value over time due to their limited production and collector demand. This makes agreed value coverage especially important, as it allows the insured value to reflect current market conditions rather than depreciation.

Can I insure a Ford GT under an agreed value policy vs. stated value?

Yes, Ford GT models can typically be insured under an agreed value policy through specialty insurers. This ensures the vehicle’s value is set upfront, so a covered total loss pays the full agreed amount minus any deductible.

How does limited production affect Ford GT insurance rates?

Limited production can increase insurance costs because it raises the vehicle’s value and makes parts and repairs more specialized. At the same time, controlled use and careful ownership can help offset risk under specialty policies.

Are track days or racing events covered under Ford GT insurance policies?

Standard policies typically exclude track use and racing events. However, separate track day insurance or specialized add-on coverage may be available for on-track driving.

What storage requirements are needed to qualify for Ford GT insurance?

Most specialty insurers require secure, enclosed storage—such as a private garage—to qualify for coverage. Proper storage helps reduce risk and is a key factor in eligibility.

Does mileage restriction impact premiums for a Ford GT?

Yes, lower annual mileage generally leads to lower premiums by reducing overall risk exposure. Most policies offer mileage tiers, allowing coverage to align with how often the vehicle is driven.

How do insurers determine replacement cost for a Ford GT?

Insurers evaluate replacement cost based on market value, condition, model year, and current demand. Documentation such as appraisals, recent sales data, and vehicle history may be used to establish an accurate agreed value.

Can I insure a Ford GT if it’s part of an investment or collection portfolio?

Yes, Ford GTs can often be insured as part of a collector or multi-vehicle policy. These policies take into account how the vehicle is stored, maintained, and used within a broader collection.
