One of the most popular summertime events for classic and collector car lovers in the Indianapolis, Indiana area is Artomobilia Weekend. The 12th annual event, which took place on August 23 and 24 in Carmel, Indiana, was all that. Here’s a musical look back at two of the signature events: Fuelicious – A Celebration of Horsepower & Heart Health and Artomobilia – A Celebration of Automotive Art & Design. Enjoy!

4th Annual Fuelicious

The 2019 Fuelicious featured 50 distinct collector cars from across the decades, an exquisite high-class menu and the best musical acts Indiana has to offer. The event raised money for Heart Reach, a local Carmel non-profit that provides automated external defibrillators to first responders as well as placing AED units with trained individuals in public locations. At about $1,000 per unit, Artomobilia co-founder John Leonard says they hoped to raise enough to purchase between 40 to 60 defibrillators.

12th Annual Artomobilia

The streets of Carmel, Indiana were rumbling with the engines of classic cars for the 2019 Artomobilia. A number of shops and restaurants held events to raise money for charitable causes as car collectors and enthusiasts descended on the town’s Arts & Design District for the event.

New Concours-Style Event for 2020

The Artomobilia team is adding an exciting new event: a concours-style extravaganza called Revolanté: A Celebration of Revolutionary Automobiles that will serve as a fabulous finale for the 2020 Artomobilia Weekend. Ticket sales will directly benefit the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum (IMS Museum) and its many programs preserving and sharing the rich history of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Indiana’s automotive heritage. The two organizations are co-developing Revolanté, which is expected to attract high-end vintage autos and collectors from all over the United States.

“After a decade of growth in the Artomobilia concept, we were eager to add the perfect Sunday finale to one of Central Indiana’s best outdoor events, and we’re elated to have the IMS Museum staff and board of directors partner with us,” says John Leonard. “Revolanté will be a can’t-miss experience for the public and participants. The IMS Museum has big plans for future exhibits and educational programming, so I’m pleased to have the Museum as our benefactor.”

“Artomobilia continues to gather momentum and acclaim among car enthusiasts not only for the quality of the show, but its emphasis on philanthropy,” says Gene Perkins, selection committee chairman for Revolanté. “The timing for Revolanté is perfect: Taking place soon after the Pebble Beach (Calif.) Concours d’Elegance, we will invite not only the Midwest’s best car collectors, but aficionados traveling to the east coast from California.” A nationally recognized automotive collector Mr. Perkins is a multi-time concours winner at Pebble Beach and IMS Foundation board member.

Save the Dates

Events for the 2020 Artomobilia Weekend are tentatively scheduled for Friday, August 21 – Shift and Fuelicious; Saturday, August 22 – Artomobilia; Sunday, August 23 – the inaugural “Revolanté.”
