Corvette just keeps surprising us, and we can’t say we’re disappointed by that fact. In spite of the hard year the company has had as a result of the massive sinkhole that attempted to destroy several pieces of history, the next year of Corvettes promises to be even bigger and better than ever before.
The standard 2015 Corvette, as well as the Stingray model will house the 8L90 eight-speed automatic that was introduced in the Z06 earlier this year. The main difference in the standard and the Stingray is that the Stingray will have a unique clutch and torque system for the naturally aspirated V-8.
The 2015 Corvette will also be equipped with an advanced transmission, featuring paddle shifters, and execution of up to eight-hundredths of a second faster than the standard PDK dual-clutch transmissions on the Porsche.
Rumors have also spread about a new special edition model to celebrate the launch of the 2015, possibly called the Corvette Coupe, to debut at the 2014 New York Auto Show.
We are excited to see what Corvette brings us in the coming year, and in many years to come. If you own, or are looking to purchase a new Corvette, give Classic Auto Insurance a call.
