Today we are featuring four models dating from the early 20th century to the present that recently sold at auction on Bring a Trailer, including a 1983 Ferrari 308 GTSi, a 2006 Cadillac XLR-V, a 1987 Porsche 944 Turbo, and a 2002 Dodge Viper GTS ACR.
1983 Ferrari 308 GTSi Quattrovalvole
This 1983 Ferrari 308 GTSi is truly a trophy that any classic car enthusiast would be proud to own. The car spent the majority of its life in California before its previous ownership and recently sold at auction for $115,000.
This stunning piece of history is finished in Oro Chiaro Metallizzato (gold) and features a black removable roof with dual side mirrors, pop-up headlights, louvered rear quarter windows, and a vented decklid. The car also features a fully independent suspension system with front and rear double wishbones.
The stopping power is provided by ventilated disc brakes and the silver 16” five-spoke alloy wheels are mounted with BFGoodrich G-force Sport Comp 2 tires.
The interior features Testa di Moro leather bolstered bucket seats with matching carpets and upholstery that extends to the upper portion of the door panels. Interior equipment includes an Alpine CD stereo, electric windows, and a three-spoke leather-wrapped MOMO steering wheel.
The instrumentation includes a 180-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 7,700-rpm redline, and readouts for oil pressure, water temperature, and fuel level. There is also an analog clock and a coolant temperature gauge.
Power for this car comes from a mid-mounted 2.9L quad-cam V8, which is equipped with four valves per cylinder and Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection. It was factory rated at 230 horsepower and 188 foot-pounds of torque.
2006 Cadillac XLR-V
If you’re a fan of the early aughts, this 2006 Cadillac XLR-V is a sleek model. The car was originally registered in Connecticut and has remained there until recently selling at auction for $29,000.
This sporty Cadillac is finished in Light Platinum and its exterior features include a power retractable hardtop, fog lights, adaptive xenon headlights, rear parking sensors, LED tail lights, and quad-polished exhaust finishers.
The car is equipped with speed-sensitive power steering, traction and stability control systems, and a four-wheel independent suspension with Magnetic Ride Control. The front wheels are 19” multi-spoke alloy with Kumho Majesty 9 tires and braking is handled by four-wheel cross-drilled and ventilated disc brakes.
The interior seats are power-adjustable with heating and cooling and are upholstered in Ebony leather. The center console, door panels, and carpets are also color-coordinated to match the seats. Door pulls, the shift knob, and the center console feature wood veneers, and amenities include a Bose sound system, a head-up display, navigation keyless access, push-button start, and dual-zone automatic climate control.
Power comes from a supercharged 4.4-liter Northstar V8 with a performance cooling package. It was factory rated at 443 horsepower and 414 foot-pounds of torque.
1987 Porsche 944 Turbo
Taking it back to the 80s, this 1987 Porsche 944 Turbo is a very sleek and edgy model. It spent a lot of time in storage before the seller brought it out for some upgrades, including a new fuel system, before selling it at auction for $7,251.
The exterior of the car is refinished in black and features pop-up headlights, a rear spoiler, and a sunroof. The car has power steering, but it does not currently function, and the anti-lock brake system features four-piston calipers and matching ventilated discs at each corner.
The interior features power-adjustable gray cloth upholstered seats with a black center console and door panels. Equipment includes an Alpine cassette stereo, cruise control, and dual front airbags.
The steering wheel is wrapped in leather and frames a tachometer with a 6,400-rpm redline and a 180-mph speedometer. There are also gauges for turbo boost pressure, coolant temperature, oil pressure, battery voltage, and fuel level.
Power comes from a turbocharged 2.5-liter inline-four with an aftermarket diverter valve. The horsepower was factory rated at 217 and 243 foot-pounds of torque. Before selling, upgrades included a new fuel pump, pressure regulator, rail damper, filter, injectors, and rear lines.
2002 Dodge Viper GTS ACR
Another sporty early-00s model on our list, and the last in our lineup, is a 2002 Dodge Viper GTS ACR. The car has remained in California since registration and sold at auction for $66,500.
This model is finished in an eye-catching Viper Red with black vinyl stripes. Additional exterior features include a vented hood, projector-style headlights, an aluminum front splitter, an aluminum diffuser, and dual center-exit exhaust outlets.
Stopping power comes from four-wheel ventilated discs with ABS and adjustable Koni shocks. The wheels are 18” BBS alloy and are mounted with Toyo Proxes R888 tires.
The interior cabin features black leather bucket seats with a color-coordinated dashboard, doors, and a center console. Equipment includes a CD stereo, ACR-branded harnesses, air conditioning, power windows, dual airbags, a carbon-filter shift knob, and adjustable pedals.
There are auxiliary gauges for oil pressure, fuel level, voltage, and coolant temperature. And the steering wheel is leather-wrapped, framing a 200-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,000-rpm redline.
The engine is an 8.0-liter OHV V10 and was factory rated at 460 horsepower and an impressive 500 foot-pounds of torque.
