The popular Artomobilia Weekend in Carmel, Indiana is a fabulous two days for anyone who loves automobiles young and old. The annual event, taking place in 2019 on August 23 and 24, draws thousands of enthusiasts to three signature experiences: SHIFT – A Road Rally of Wheels & Warriors; Fuelicious – A Celebration of Horsepower & Heart Health; and Artomobilia – A Celebration of Automotive Art & Design. Artomobilia organizers and sponsors are inspired by a driving purpose that brings together the awareness, passion and resources of attendees to support the incredible work of featured charitable nonprofits throughout the weekend.

Shift

Friday, August 23 / 8:30am – 3:30pm

Launched in 2018, SHIFT kicks off Artomobilia Weekend. Organizers like to say the event is for those who “enjoy the art and design of the automobile in motion.”  Participants get the hands-on experience of driving the best backroads of Southern Indiana and testing the performance of some of the most recognized iconic sports cars and supercars over the past 50 years. In “poker run” style, they also compete to win the winning hand to benefit Three Points Racing Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to mentor and train veterans for employment in the motor sports industry.

Fuelicious

Friday, August 23 / 7:00pm – 11:00pm

At the exclusive Fuelicious event, hosted at the magnificent Lucas Estate, automotive enthusiasts, businesspeople, community leaders and local personalities come together for an evening of culinary delight, lively music and automotive awesomeness in support of the life-saving nonprofit, Bolt for the Heart and sister company Heart Reach, dedicated to bringing awareness about sudden cardiac arrest and to putting AEDs in the hands of first responders.

Life-Saving Power of AEDs

Because of the efforts of the Bolt for the Heart organization, every car belonging to the Carmel Police -as well as the Indiana State Police- is now equipped with this life-saving technology, which turns out to be fortunate for one of the guests of Fuelicious 2018.

Jeff Utzinger survives a sudden cardiac arrest because the Carmel police officer who responds to the 911 call is equipped with an AED. “And the rest is history,” Jeff says. Sudden cardiac arrest, or SCA is not a heart attack; it’s more like an electrical heart storm in the body that causes your heart to stop. First responders typically have about a five-minute window to get your heart pumping again.

An Automated External Defibrillator (AED) is used to restart the heart in the event of sudden cardiac arrest. Each year sudden cardiac arrest kills 335,000 people of all ages and fitness levels without warning. Ninety-five percent of those who suffer from SCA die because CPR and defibrillation usually occur too late, if at all.  If first responders apply CPR and utilize an AED within five minutes, at least 40,000 more lives per year could be saved.

12th Annual Artomobilia

Saturday, August 24 / 12:00pm – 5:00pm

This popular car extravaganza showcases automotive art and design on the streets of the Carmel Arts & Design District. In 2019, Artomobilia goes by a special nickname, “La Corse Dei Tori,” Italian for Running of the Bulls, because attendees can feast their eyes on a storied array of the exceptional performance cars of Ferruccio Lamborghini, whose reputation and styling have been defining and redefining the category of Super Car for more than 50 years. The Artomobilia team has once again partnered with noted commercial automotive photographer, Anthony Ross Tyler, to capture a collection of Lamborghini V-12s in celebration of the event’s twelfth year.

Special for 2019, Porsche-palooza, in concert with the Central Indiana Region of the Porsche Club of America, will feature uncommon, common, special, regular, fast, super-fast and not-so-fast Porsches we have all come to know and love over the car company’s 70 years.
