The rumors have been flying around for years, but it appears the 2015 Corvette line will finally deliver on a long-awaited promise to Corvette fans: the mid-engine.
The new Corvette ZR1 (supposedly the “Z” named after Zora Arkus-Duntov, the father of the Corvette) will house the engine behind the front seats, in front of the rear-axle. This new mid-engined model will be the start of the C8 generation of Corvettes.
While this is still a rumor, much like the rumor on the C7 CERV II, the Aerovette, and the CERV III, sources believe this one has more to it than any of its predecessors. So we shall see soon enough whether or not the C8 generation will start off with a mid-engined bang, or if it will be a more traditional rendition.
