There’s nothing better than cruising around in a stylish classic car. In past decades, many vehicles have offered motorists great driving performances and cool, unforgettable styles. Here are seven of the coolest classic cars in history.

1963 Corvette Stingray

Chevrolet has created numerous memorable Corvettes through the years, and perhaps the coolest one is the 1963 Corvette Stingray. Chevrolet produced the Stingray between 1963 and 1967. Although the Stingray’s predecessor was already stylish, the Stingray made Corvettes even cooler with a sleeker design. The vehicle is also much lighter, faster, and easier to handle than the previous Corvette.

1966 Shelby 427 Cobra

The Shelby 427 Cobra offers drivers a highly unique, cool style, and it also sports a powerful engine. The vehicle has an incredible power-to-weight ratio with a Ford 7.0 liter FE engine with a single 4-barrel 780 CFM Holley carburetor. The carburetor has a rating of 425 horsepower at 6,000 rpm, and it has 480 foot-pounds of torque. Today, the Shelby is a highly sought-after treasure. It once even sold for $5.5 million at auction.

1957 Mercedes 300SL Gullwing

The 300SL Gullwing was one of the first sports vehicles available after World War II. It’s called the Gullwing because of its gullwing door designs. In addition to its cool style, the Gullwing also comes equipped with a powerful engine. Mercedes powered the Gullwing with a 182.8 cubic inch M198 straight-six engine as well as a 4-speed manual transmission.

Mercedes originally debuted this vehicle exclusively for racing. The company released a consumer version of the car after it won the 24 Hours of LeMans and the Carrera Panamericana in 1952.

1961 Jaguar E-Type

Enzo Ferrari dubbed the Jaguar E-Type “the most beautiful car ever made,” and it’s no mystery why. This gorgeous and cool vehicle is a one-of-kind spectacle for motor enthusiasts. In addition to its beautiful style, the Jaguar E-Type also offers a powerful driving performance. The first series in the Jaguar E-Type came with either a 3.8 L or a 4.2 L XK I6 engine. Additionally, the vehicle could come with a 4-speed manual transmission or a 3-speed automatic transmission. Today, the 1961 Jaguar E-Type sells between $138,000 and $355,000.

1966 Lamborghini Miura

Lamborghini originally produced this vehicle in order to compete with Ferrari in the Italian supercar market. The car offers an unbelievably sleek style and a powerful engine. Lamborghini equipped the Miura with a 3929 cc Lamborghini V12 engine with a 5-speed manual transmission. Although Lamborghini has released many beautiful cars since the Miura, none of them compare to the original Miura’s one-of-a-kind style. Today, the vehicle costs between $350,000 and $400,000.

1962 Ferrari 250 GTO

Ferrari only created 39 of these breathtaking vehicles. Because there are so few, the Ferrari 250 GTO often sells for millions of dollars. It comes equipped with a 2,953 cc Tipo 168/62 Colombo V12 engine with 296 horsepower at 7,500 rpm. The Ferrari 250 GTO placed 8th on Sports Car International’s “Top Sports Cars of the 1960s” list. Additionally, Motor Trend Classic listed the 250 GTO as one of the greatest Ferraris of all time.

1969 Chevrolet Camaro

The 1969 Chevrolet Camaro offers a signature American muscle style. The body comes with unforgettable silver stripes on top of the hood. The vehicle originally either came with a 230 cubic inch straight-6 engine with 140 horsepower at 4,400 rpm or a 327 cubic inch V8. It also came with a 3-speed manual transmission.
