Over 350 exceptional classic cars, hot rods and performance vehicles went down to decorate the State Street between Micheltorena and Gutierrez on Sunday, May 19th 2013 in downtown Santa Barbara. The 14th Annual Wheels and Waves Car Show was a huge success! Santa Barbara sprang to life with the sound and sight of classic cars, hot-rods and custom cars parading through the streets. Going by the fabulous feedback of spectators and participants, the exotic array of classic vintage cars and hot rods was a feast for the eyes, and even more thrilling this year than in previous years.
Last year, the 13th annual Wheels ‘N’ Waves classic car show saw the streets of Broadway and Columbia lined with over 400 hot-rods and other classic cars from the pre-1963 era. The exhibits included stunning Shelby Cobras, classic Corvettes, a 1955 Thunderbird, street rods, a flathead V-8 with all trimmings, a 40’s Chevy, 60’s Thunderbird with custom seats, a 1956 Mercury Cruising, and Ford Coupes.
This year, the list was even longer, with with more classic car clubs adding the event to their lists. The performance was judged by Ray McClelland from "Full Throttle Kustomz".
Apart from these cars, there are always several free events open to the public, too. If you missed it this year, make sure to mark your calendar for the Wheels ‘N’ Waves event in Santa Barbara next spring!
