Everyone wanted their say in what the 50-year-old Mustang would look like, but for this iconic sports coupe, the sixth-generation Mustang needed to be built from more than audience suggestions and non-expert opinions.
The executives at Ford have worked long and hard on the sixth generation of this legend, and first looks at the new Mustang certainly do not disappoint. In celebration of the Mustang’s 50th birthday, plans are in place to release this new model on a global level. The Ford Motor Co. recently released a sneak peak of the car in New York, Los Angeles, Shanghai, Sydney, Barcelona, and Dearborn, MI. The 2015 Mustang will be available for sale to the public next fall in the U.S. and later in the year for europe and Asia.
The Mustang has only released 5 original models in the past, scratching past designs for previous Mustangs and starting with a clean slate. It seems appropriate that the 6th concept design should occur simultaneously with the 50th birthday celebration.
The Mustang is one of the longest running brands on the market. Having already been around for 31 years longer than its ancestor, the Model T, and competing for time with the Porsche 911, the Mustang’s new concept is sure to launch this car into the future of vehicle design and production, securing its place in the industry for years to come.
