The National Corvette Museum is celebrating an abundance of new cars for fans everywhere to enjoy, thanks to the largest donation of cars ever received by the museum
Don Messner,a Corvette lover and collector, was diagnosed with melanoma in January of 2012. He passed away this May, but not before deciding to leave his collection of ten Corvettes to the museum. The ten cars include a custom race-built 1965 coupe, a 1990 ZR-1, a 1996 Grand Sport, and a 2013 60th Anniversary Edition.
Messner was a loyal Classic Auto Insurance client, and he will be greatly missed. We are thankful for his dedication to preserving his collection of cars, and extremely grateful for his generous decision to share them with Corvette fans all over the world.
The National Corvette Museum is located in Bowling Green, Kentucky. If you would like to see Mr. Messner’s collection, his Corvettes will be on display in a special exhibit from May 10th – September 12th, 2014.
Around 77,000 people each year are diagnosed with melanoma, and nearly 10,000 people a year die from this disease. If you would like to donate to the Melanoma Research Foundation, financial support is always appreciated.
