In 1969, the GT’s lost the title of Cobra, but the most important thing about this car is that 1969 was the last year for Carroll Shelby to put his stamp on this model. While the wheelbase stayed at 108 inches, like previous years, the length of this year’s model increased by 4 inches. The introduction of the Mach, the Boss, and the Grand in this year definitely took a toll on Shelby sales, but the Shelby GT 500 still lives on as one of the favorite Mustang models in history.
