With a new partnership from NASA (no, not the space guys. We’re talking about the National Auto Sport Association) and Ãlan Technologies, affordable racing is now a possibility.
This partnership has been working tirelessly to bring us the NP Series of cars (set to release in the fall of 2015), featuring a line of kit racing cars intended to cater to a variety of racers needs and wants, including affordability, safety, and speed. The sneak peak into this line offers a prototype that will appeal to the masses; a kit car that rings up at a grand total of $59,995, the “cheapest” price available for any racing prototype on the market.
This model, the NP01 weighs in at just 1550 lbs. and can reach top speeds of over 150 mph. Under the hood of this kit car comes a sealed 185 horsepower, 2-liter Mazda engine with a 6-speed sequential transmission. Customers can either purchase the car kit and assemble it themselves, adding their own customizations along the way, if they wish, or they can request a factory completion, and have the finished product shipped to them, ready to race.
This exclusive new NASA series will be able to compete at any one of the over 150 sanctioned NASA events across the country, including events at the Virginia International Raceway and the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. Are you ready to compete?
