Remember the 1980’s show Knight Rider with David Hasselhoff? If you were a fan, this is your chance to own a “sort of” piece of memorabilia from the show. Hasselhoff is auctioning off a gift he received from a fan, a full rebuild of a 1986 Pontiac, designed to look and function just like the original KITT, the car from the show.
The fan who rebuilt it, Jennifer Catano, equipped the car with scissor doors, a yoke steering wheel, exterior lighting additions and the full custom digital dashboard. The only thing the new model is missing is the Turbo Boost that the original KITT used to kick into overdrive. The car also comes with a custom soundboard which is loaded with over 4,000 sound bites from the show.
The car will go up for auction at Julien’s Live in Beverly Hills with a starting bid of only $15,000. It is expected to fetch between $30,000 and $50,000.
